Resorts on Prince Edward Island, Canada

The fact that Prince Edward Island is Canada’s smallest province has not hurt it one bit where resort choices are concerned. In fact, there are three resorts that are worth mentioning, if for nothing else but their distinct differences.

The famous Boardwalk and Peake’s Wharf attractions are just a short walk away from the Delta Prince Edward resort. This resort has an abundance of options from which to choose, ranging from an indoor pool, complete with kiddie wading pool, sauna AND indoor hot tub facilities, many different types of fitness equipment, a golf simulator, tanning booths, and massage therapy.

StanhopeStanhope Bay and Beach Resort is the oldest resort on Prince Edward Island. This resort is only open from May to October, but during its short season, it provides a unique old-worldly atmosphere. The perfect spot for a fabulous beach and golf combo vacation!

If those choices aren’t enough to boggle the mind, one can also choose from four different room types: Delta, Premier, Deluxe, and Deluxe with Jacuzzi.

Still need more choices? OK, which type of bed, King, Queen, or double? All are available in any of the rooms.

The Victorian charm that is so much a part of Prince Edward Island is evident in the Rodd Charlottetown resort. This sumptuous hotel, which was built in 1913, has a 4½-star rating that is well-deserved. The old-world atmosphere brings to mind thoughts of history, elegance, and class.

The floors are made of marble; the ceilings are of the “barrel-vaulted” design. Rooms are decorated with strikingly realistic Victorian era furnishings, drapes, and linen replicas.

One wonders what Prince Edward Island would be capable of producing in the way of fabulous and unique resorts if it were any bigger. Perhaps, though, its small size is what makes the resorts in this tiny Canadian province seem so much bigger than life.
